Memorial Tattoos Part II

Hipstamatic picture of Eric's tattoo.
Today I completed the families memorial tattoos for Samantha and Eric, (part two from the memorial tattoo day which you can see the tattoos from here).
Non-altered photo of Eric's tattoo.
Eric got a "22" with a celtic link in the numbers, Sean's football number.
Samantha's tattoo in Hipstamatic vision.

Samantha got a celtic-inspired cross and text.  The shading in the cross was done in an olive green.

Samantha's tattoo, unaltered photo.
Also started today was a Dia Los Muertos tattoo on Cipriano's knee.  The knee was pretty swollen after the fact so I will have to wait until I see it healed to post pictures.

Emily's Skeleton

This is Emily's rib cage now adorned with a human skeleton and roses.  Emily is one tough lady, with this tattoo completed in two small sessions and no complaining from Emily!  I truly appreciate a prepared client who can also sit still through the tattoo process, thanks Emily.

Kelly's Mushrooom

I tattooed this little mushroom on Kelly's ankle this evening.  Additionally, some text around the mushroom, a quote from the Lewis Carroll's, Through the Looking Glass, (Alice and Wonderland story).  I chose to post this close-up of the mushroom as it showcases the detail of the tattoo.
To quote How it Works.com, on the Fly Agaric; "This mushroom is deadly only if eaten in large quantities. It grows as much as one foot (30 cm) tall in woods and along roadsides. The top of the cap is straw yellow to reddish orange, spotted with white or pale-yellow warts. The gills are white or pale yellow. One of its poisons, muscarine, paralyzes the nerves controlling heart action."

And that had nothing to do with why Kelly got this tattoo, she just likes mushrooms, and I have to agree, the red, spotted Fly Agaric is the cutest, at least in illustrated form.

Shane and Sarah on Saturday

Shane's memorial tattoo.

Sarah's tattoo for her daughter, plus rosemaling.
I started the day with a handful of consultations. Then, keeping in the Halloweenie theme that has been persisting in my tattoos I tattooed a memorial on Shane's foot for his mother.  No, she is not a zombie but was a costume designer and make-up artist and worked on the film Dawn of the Dead.
Then to change pace I did a non-macabe tribute tattoo for Sarah's daughter, Eleanor, by tattooing "Edelweiss" on the inside of her forearm, with the addition of some rosemaling on either side.

Zombies and Bats

Nate's zombie pin-up leg finally finished.

Pat's bats.
Yay!  What a lovely day.  I was able to finish, finally, Nate's zombie pin-up tattoo.  I then tattooed some giant writing across an upper back, and bats on Pat.  Additionally, I was lucky to start a new pin-up camping tattoo on Jessie, (ODB).   It was pretty much the best day a gal like me could ask for, tattoo-wise.  It was all kicked off with a delicious breakfast at the Bad Waitress with my friend Tara.

Memorial Tattoo Photos

I tattooed a series of memorial tattoos on Amanda, Kyle, Matti and Karen, a tribute to their son and brother, Sean.  The family was additionally celebrating the wedding of the sister of Sean, Samantha, only two weeks after the tattoos completion.  The photos above were taken at Samantha's wedding of Karen and Amanda's tattoos.

Colt Round Two...

We finished Colt's side tattoo today and I started a new side piece on Emily; a skeleton on a bed of roses.  Both were excellent patients!

Morgan and Brad

Morgan's arm, complete.

Brad's text.
I finished Morgan's arm today, a creation from his own artwork, tattooed entirely in brown.  I lovingly referred to tattooing on Morgan all day as "going to brown town."  Alas, we completed the last part of his arm and he is off on his journey to Hawaii, I wish him all the best, and for his benefit, that he doesn't move back to the land of ice and snow.
The later portion of my day included tattooing the above text on Brad's side.  Brad was beat up and abused from softball playoffs in North Carolina earlier in his week, so the rib tattoo was a breeze in comparison.
