Boozy Tattoos

The above tattoos on  Matt B. were designed to create a "Maker's Mark" bottle out of his arm; his favorite former vice.  We did this in one four hour session.

...healed....
Strangely enough I started the day with another boozy tattoo, a memorial, for Jeff's brother.  The above picture is a healed picture (taken June 1st, two months healed with the exception of the white ink), and the below photo is immediately after completion.

...fresh...

Adena's Addition

I added this custom sailor girl to Adena's arm today.  The portion of the tattoo below the girl and her scarf were tattooed by another artist.  I designed the girl to fit in with the existing tattoo and also re-tattooed and improved upon the work that had been done by the other artist; it was definitely inferior work and the tattoo artist is now living outside of the area, otherwise I would have had a different plan of attack.  Tattooing over and re-doing other tattoo artists work is something I consider on a case by case basis, in an effort to maintain many the ethics of tattooing that I find important, (and sadly lacking) to the industry.

Cowgirl Tattoo

This tattoo I completed some time ago, (while I was working in Hudson the second stint, so about four or five years ago).  I just got a picture of it now and thought I'd share a nice healed picture of a tattoo that is about five years ago and how well it has aged...

Anna's Locket

A tattoo for Anna just above her ditch of a locket with a profile in her father's likeness inside.

Turtles!!!

I just had to take a picture of these little turtles while picking up dog food at the store...maybe I'll find a use for that fish tank after all....

Polar Bear Hello

Here's a glimpse of one of the poor polar bears in the new and "improved" polar bear exhibit at the Como Zoo...I still feel bad for these guys.

A Whale of a Tattoo

I tattooed this Moby Dick-esque tattoo (notably not a white whale but a black one) on Matt today.  I am really loving this piece, it is intended to have a wood-block print feel to it.  We completed this in a six hour session.

Near Lutsen...

From the cross-country ski trail at dusk..skied the loop into the darkness several miles while silently snowing.  Beautiful.
