Gods and Monsters

The art show at the 33 Design Gallery went well.  Great set-up, tons of horror themed art, a spooky musical accompaniment and creepy Japanese horror movies on the projector.  The gallery was painted with silhouettes of classic monster movie poses to add to the ambiance.  The paintings were mounted on top of the silhouettes which provided for contrast.

I submitted my Jaws themed painting to the show which is still available for purchase and on display at the gallery until the end of the month.

Fairies Fairies!

Whew!  This made for the longest outline I have ever attempted in one day.  We did nearly eight solid hours of outlining today, with breaks of course.  Katie was a very great patient and very inspirational person as well.  Being the rocking chic she is, Katie is a circus gymnast, a vocal instructor and keyboard player/vocalist in the band Surly Jones.  Wow, I don't know how she has the time, or can stay so chipper!  What a sweetie.  Be sure to check out for their upcoming shows and cheer them on.  In the meantime, enjoy these pictures of the work-in-progress.

Danielle's Alice in Wonderland Half Sleeve

Started this little number on my pal Danielle today.  We still have quite a bit to go, but here is what we accomplished so far.

Gods and Monsters

Can't believe I haven't posted this yet.  But just in time, happening this Saturday, 7-midnight.  I have to work, but I will hopefully be there by nine.  Will I see you there?

Josh's Phoenix

I got to work on Josh's phoenix today for a couple hours.   I added some red tones and brown to the bottom.  The photo was taken on the Photobooth program.

Brittany's Girls

Tattooed these lovely gals on the lovely Brittany herself, (not the infamous Brittany Noel of LFDY fame), but infamous in her own right.  They are a work in progress, so just a teaser until we get to attack them in a couple weeks again.  Had a great time chatting with Brittany.  I felt like we were old friends at the end of the day.

The images are based on illustrations from a female Australian based artist named Tegan who goes by the pseudonym, Glitter Sniffer .  You can check her work out on deviantART.  It is really impressive stuff!

On another note, I thought I had put my back out by the end of the night.  All the hunching over my painting the night before trying to finish it by the deadline really put me out of whack.  Coincidentally, Brittany's good pal who joined us at the end of the night is a masseuse.  I'll be setting up an appointment to try and get put back together.  I've be vehemently avoiding a massage for far too long and I think it's catching up with me.   No more hiding!  Time for some ibuprofen and bed.

My New Favorite

I don't mean to be biased, but I have to be here.  The tattoo shown here encompasses two things that both give me inspiration and make me happier than pretty much anything else, pin-up girls and camping, respectively.  Oh yes, and airstream trailers, airstream pretty much equalling Nirvana in my world.  Ah, the day that I own my own will be a grand day indeed.  (I love Airstreams so much, I even spent my wedding night in one).  Anyway, it's just great.  It's a tattoo I feel I can get lost in the design of and dream of some beautiful camping world where everything is cute, clean, shiny and free of bears.  But really, I did this tattoo on Jesse, (otherwise known as wrestler ODB, One Dirty Bitch), to coordinate with the opposite arm that I completed last winter of a pin-up working on a truck amongst a farm scene.  They compliment each other beautifully, in my opinion, and I had a great time doing them.  Look for ODB on TNA wrestling, shown on Spike television.

Mucha Inspired...

This is a work in progress tattoo on John.  Just a teaser photo, as we still have a bit of color to add that will really make the piece.  Mucha serves as inspiration for this one...
